Grateful in Kabul

I’m on the tail end of fighting off a cold in Kabul. It’s the normal, runny nose, sore throat, chills, headache, general fuzziness, you know the story.

The good news is that I was able to sleep most of it off yesterday, with 10 hours of sleep at night, and then another 4 hour and 2 hour stint of sleeping during the day. Sometimes you just have to give yourself a break when it asks for it.

Being sick though makes me grateful for a year of very good health here in Kabul. I’ve managed to not have any tummy issues for my entire year, including stints in other Asian countries as well. Overall I think I should be relieved at a quick two day cold, even if it isn’t fun to have it!

Asante,

Miel
